Austin-based 121Giving is targeting brands and donors who want to help charities procure the goods they need through its ecommerce and crowdfunding platform. Partnering with brands allows for 121Giving to sell its inventory of furniture, medical equipment, food, and more to charities at a discount. Charities can also utilize the platform to crowdfund those purchases. By marrying the two, 121Giving has built transparency into its platform. Donors can see what charities spend donations on, and brands can incorporate philanthropy into their supply chain.
